a second visit to that thrift shop

2012 07 16 - typecast

Unfortunately even this time I didn't have a proper sheet of paper to try the typewriters with. I only found the back of a typewritten list of books to buy (written with my Facit) that was still usable:

2012 07 16 - typewriter test

As you may guess "prova" stands for "test".

  1. I have a Hermes Media 3 and I love it, even minus all those tabulators. It helps, of course, that it's cursive. ( :

  2. I never knew the differences between the 3000 and the Media 3 until now. Thanks for the insight! Really, I never thought to look into why they were two separate machines, but look exactly the same at a quick glance.
I, too, have been trying to pass up on typewriters in an effort to only purchase ones I 'really want'. I have stayed pretty good about this during the last week (having not made a single typewriter purchase!), but the problem is that I want ALL of them! Haha.

  3. Hermes 3000 typewriters with Techno seem to go in spurts on line. There will be few if any and at high prices and then all of a sudden several for a few dollars and very reasonable shipping. I hope it works out that way for you if you cannot find one in a thrift shop or private sale.
