  1. Happy T-Day, Andrea!
Awesome vid, looks and sounds great. You know I am a fan of the Diaspron, especially with those colored keys. I think it's the perfect machine for you to feature on T-Day.

    1. If I'll find the time I'd like to post a detailed review of the restoration of this typewriter. The pics are on my hdd and still waiting to be edited :-)

  2. Thanks, I've never seen a Diaspron in action before. I still prefer the rounded look of the Lexikon 80, but I'm sure the Diaspron is a good machine.

  4. What an interesting looking and quiet (from what I can tell) typewriter. I have never before seen one of these, but the colored keys are awesome.

  5. Even though you know i'm italian just like you, let's write this comment in English like everyone else did in this commentbox, to make it universally understandable.

I recently got an Olivetti 82 Diaspron, that works well and is in good conditions.
The only thing I am disappointed about is the keyboard feel.
Even with the lightest regulation of both the touch control levers, it remains very stiff and kinda slushy; and I don't think the problem is caused by dirt, cause all the keys feels the same. I have two other standard and two portables, and none of them has such a keyboard, even the Lettera 32 is snappier and way more light.
Considering that you have the same machine and other ones to compare with, I wanted to ask you if your one fits this description, to see if this is a normal feature of this model, or a fault of my specimen.

    Ciao, grazie!

  6. Hi!
Yes, my Diaspron has that feel, but also the Olivetti Studio 44 I tested some time ago had a similar feel, only a bit lighter. My studio 42 is a lot snappier than the 44 and my Optima Elite has a lighter touch than the 82D.
Probably I think that part of the heavy touch may be a feature of this typewriter, but probably ageing make the touch even heavier.
